Youth Council Established under Ukraine’s Ministry of Communities and Territories Development

According to Кулеба: A newly formed Youth Council now operates as an advisory body within the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. The council comprises 33 members selected from nearly 100 applicants, with Ivanna Odeychuk appointed as its chair. This initiative aims to give young people a structured voice in shaping national recovery and policy.

The council’s membership reflects broad geographic diversity, including representatives from frontline areas. Members come from a variety of backgrounds, such as:

  • non-governmental organizations
  • youth councils
  • state-owned enterprises
  • the private sector
  • internally displaced persons (IDP) communities
Ivanna Odeychuk: 'This is a strong start, but the real work lies ahead.'

She also expressed hope that the Youth Council would become a true partner to the Ministry. 'I am confident that together we will turn the Youth Council into an active participant in Ukraine’s recovery and development,' the council chair added.

The establishment of the Youth Council marks a significant step toward integrating young people into the country’s development and reconstruction efforts. It opens up fresh avenues for Ukrainian youth to influence decision-making and actively shape policies that affect their interests. Partnering with the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development is expected to amplify the youth voice in public processes and help drive initiatives amid current challenges.
