Ministry of Health purchases thousands of hearing aids: who will receive assistance at state expense

According to Міністерство Здоров'я: 6,995 hearing aids have been delivered to the Medical Procurement of Ukraine warehouse, purchased on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. This is already the third delivery under a three-year contract with the distributor Oticon. A total of 24,456 hearing aids have been purchased under this contract for a sum of UAH 105.9 million.

Among the delivered devices are specialized devices for children and adults with varying degrees of hearing loss. In particular, for children, the following have been purchased:

• 413 hearing aids for mild hearing loss;
• 493 devices for moderate loss;
• 615 devices for severe hearing loss.

For adults, the following has been provided:

• 2,653 hearing aids for stages 2-3 of hearing loss;
• 1,800 devices for stage 4;
• 1,021 device for stage 5 of hearing loss.

Currently, 7,533 hearing aids have already been distributed. This will ensure access to necessary assistance for thousands of people who need hearing devices. The three-year contract signed in 2024 aims to improve the quality of life for people with hearing problems and give them the opportunity to actively engage in society.

The purchase of hearing aids by the Ministry of Health is an important step in ensuring access for people with hearing impairments to necessary medical devices. This will help improve their quality of life and facilitate social integration. It is important that the program continues and that additional resources are provided to support people with similar needs in the future.
