According to glavcom.ua: On the Toretsk direction, aerial reconnaissance officers of the 'Predator' police patrol captured a Russian assault soldier with the call sign Rugby Player. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the brigade's press service.

Two Russian fighters approached the Ukrainian positions, and the aerial reconnaissance officers attacked them from the air with accurate drops: one shot himself on the spot due to injury, while the other raised his hands, showing readiness to surrender.

The drone dropped a note with the instruction: 'If you want to live – follow the drone.' The captured soldier followed the order and reached the Ukrainian positions, where he was met by Ukrainian fighters.

The Russian captive is 43 years old, hails from Kazan, a former player of the Russian national rugby team, who had his own cryptocurrency firm. After bankruptcy and debts of six million rubles, the man divorced, and his new girlfriend advised him to go 'earn' in the war. Despite promises not to get to the front line, he was sent to an assault group.

According to Rugby Player, he did not want to kill Ukrainians and is still not sure he wants to return to Russia, as he fears he will be sent back to war.

As a result of the conflict in the Toretsk direction, aerial reconnaissance officers forced one of the Russian fighters to surrender, saving him from negative consequences. This incident once again highlights the tense situation in eastern Ukraine and the consequences of the war for individual participants.
