According to glavcom.ua: A terrible incident occurred in the Kirovohrad region - three people died from carbon monoxide poisoning, including two children. Another child and a woman with multiple injuries were taken to the hospital. This is reported by the State Emergency Service.

«Three people died from carbon monoxide, including two children born in 2010 and 2011. The tragedy occurred in the Kirovohrad Region, in the village of Novy Starodub in the Petrivska community of the Oleksandriysk district. One child born in 2025 and a woman born in 1988 were injured. They were taken to the hospital», - the report states.

Rescuers emphasize that carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas, making it extremely difficult to detect and consider it highly dangerous.

Prevention of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

  • regularly service stoves, heaters, fireplaces;
  • check chimneys and ventilation;
  • do not block ventilation openings;
  • do not start a car engine in a closed garage;
  • install a carbon monoxide detector for added safety.

Recently in Kolomyia, a tragedy occurred in a family of four due to carbon monoxide poisoning from a faulty gas boiler. Also, in Lviv on Knyazya Romana Street, nine people were affected by carbon monoxide, including five children who were hospitalized.

The incident in Kirovohrad Region once again reminds us of the importance of following safety rules in our own homes and checking gas equipment to avoid similar tragedies.
