New Mobile Scanners Deployed at the Ukrainian-Polish Border

According to Главком: New mobile scanning systems have begun trial operations at the Ukrainian-Polish border to inspect vehicles. This equipment is currently being used at three border crossing points: Yahodyn, Rava-Ruska, and Krakivets. Once the reconstruction of the Shehyni crossing point is complete, the scanners are also planned to be launched there.

These advanced systems are equipped with artificial intelligence that automatically analyzes images, identifies potential risks, and helps locate concealed goods. The scanners are capable of inspecting various types of vehicles, including:

• trucks
• passenger cars
• minibuses

The supply of these scanners was carried out under an agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Poland. The equipment is manufactured by the American company Varex Imaging, whose products are used in over 150 countries worldwide. This deployment is part of broader efforts to modernize border infrastructure and enhance security, especially following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This step is intended to increase both security and the efficiency of border control.
