Individual number owners: new mandatory procedure within 10 days

Car owners who have ordered individual license plates for their vehicles must urgently contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center within 10 days after receiving the plates to obtain a new registration certificate. This requirement is established in the Order for the ordering, issuance, and accounting of license plates approved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Re-registration involves contacting the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the place of vehicle registration. After verifying the data, an updated registration certificate is issued that records the individual license plate and state number. The old certificate is then confiscated.

The new document records the characters of the individual license plate - for example, 'AUTOMANIA' or 'DRIVE24' - alongside information about the current state number. This confirms that both numbers are assigned to the same vehicle.

The law allows for the reassignment of the individual number to another vehicle in case of a change. To do this, it is necessary to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center and undergo the re-registration procedure. Issuing a new registration certificate is a mandatory procedure that ensures the legality of using personal numbers.

Changes in the issuance of individual license plates not only include the re-registration procedure but also the opportunity to choose a unique symbolic inscription for the individual number, allowing car owners to personalize their vehicles and stand out from other vehicles.
