According to Главком: Rescue teams are scouring the area near the village of Hetyne in western Ukraine for a 10-year-old boy who was swept away by the Tisza River on June 21. Divers, police officers, and local volunteers are all involved in the operation. Emergency workers from the State Emergency Service (DSNS) are also using a drone to survey the terrain from above.
Rising Toll in Water Incidents
Over the past 24 hours, eight people have died in water-related accidents across Ukraine. In the Rivne region alone, three children drowned in a single day. Meanwhile, in Vinnytsia Oblast, a 15-year-old teenager lost his life while swimming on the evening of June 11 in the village of Noskivtsi, part of the Stanislavchyk community.
“Swimming in prohibited or unverified areas is a direct threat to life. We once again urge the public to strictly follow safety rules!” - DSNS officials warn.
