According to НАБУ: NABU and SAP discovered a criminal scheme where an organized group stole 129 million hryvnias that were intended to be spent on the restoration of infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk region.
From 2022 to 2023, the criminals won a tender for the reconstruction of the water supply system through the control of a local entrepreneur. After winning the tender, they purchased pipes through a middleman at inflated prices and resold them to a municipal enterprise.
"The money obtained from the sale of the pipes was used for legalization through other firms," NABU explained.
This scheme was uncovered thanks to the joint efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
