'Naftogaz' will import gas without budget funds: details from the IMF

According to hvylya.net: The company 'Naftogaz' plans to finance gas imports using international financial institutions, its own resources, and loans from Ukrainian banks for the upcoming heating season. The state budget does not provide funds for this. This decision was made due to damage to 'Naftogaz's' gas infrastructure as a result of Russian attacks.

'To finance these purchases, the company is expected to rely mainly on the support of international financial institutions and donors, its own cash reserves, and domestic bank financing. No additional budget spending on gas imports is expected.'

After damages to up to 50% of the company's gas infrastructure, restoring the sector in 2025 will require significant financial investments. Estimates of the funds needed for the reconstruction of the energy sector reach 68 billion dollars. The decision by 'Naftogaz' is to save state funds for other strategic needs in times of war.
