Attack on Military Recruitment Vehicle in Odesa: Unknown Assailants Block Car Carrying Conscripts and Spray Tear Gas

According to Главком: On May 5, an attack occurred in Odesa targeting an official vehicle belonging to the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC and SP). Using two civilian cars, unidentified individuals blocked the military transport, damaged its windows, and released an irritant gas inside the cabin. As a result, three conscripts fled the scene, creating a direct threat to the lives and health of the military personnel escorting the vehicle.
According to the Odesa Regional TCC and SP, the attack happened while conscripts were being transported to the Odesa Mobilization Center for a military medical commission. The perpetrators' actions may be classified as deliberate obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In response, the TCC leadership is filing a request with law enforcement authorities to identify and prosecute all individuals involved in organizing and carrying out these illegal acts.
“All participants in the incident will be identified, and their actions will be assessed under current Ukrainian law,” stated a representative of the Odesa Regional TCC and SP.

Since February 24, 2022, a total of 620 attacks against TCC personnel have been recorded. The highest numbers of incidents occurred in:
- Kharkiv region – 69
- Kyiv – 53
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 45
