Actor Notices Signs of Exhaustion in Zelenskyy’s Eyes After Presidency
Sergey Kalantay and Volodymyr Zelenskyy: A Professional Partnership
According to Главком: People's Artist of Ukraine Sergey Kalantay has opened up about working alongside Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the set of the TV series "Servant of the People." In a recent interview, the actor discussed Zelenskyy’s management skills and his demeanor during a ceremony where he received the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine. Kalantay noted that he knew Zelenskyy as an actor, colleague, producer, and a 'tremendous organizer.'
Kalantay emphasized that Zelenskyy’s organizational abilities left a strong impression on him.
“I was amazed. He could resolve a logistical issue just two minutes before a crucial scene. It completely floored me. The man was handling two or three phones at once. That won me over,” he said.
However, the actor clarified that their relationship was never close. Their last in-person meeting occurred during the award ceremony for the Merited Artist of Ukraine.
The Weight of Leadership on Zelenskyy
Kalantay also remarked that, at that moment, Zelenskyy’s eyes lacked the self-assurance of the leader from 'Kvartal 95.'
“In cinema, the most important element is the eyes. I saw that man’s eyes. They weren’t the eyes of a cocky winner. They were the eyes of someone exhausted. There was more calm there. I read that more than joy or celebration,” Kalantay observed.
Additionally, composer and People’s Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Zlotnyk shared his own feelings about Zelenskyy after his election as president, saying he felt sorry for him. These remarks highlight the challenging circumstances facing the new head of state. The comments from both artists offer a glimpse into the personal toll of high office, a topic often discussed in Western media regarding political leaders under pressure.
Kalantay’s interview once again brings attention to Zelenskyy’s public image, which-given his dual career as an actor and president-evokes varied reactions in society. The actor’s insights into Zelenskyy’s organizational skills may shed light on how his background in show business has shaped his performance in the political arena. Similarly, Zlotnyk’s words reflect broader concerns about the difficulties the president faces, potentially signaling the instability of the country’s political situation.
