This initiative, named the 'Affordable Effectors and Autonomous Platforms' program, aims to supply Alliance armies with thousands of inexpensive drones within a year. The move is a direct response to lessons learned from the war in Ukraine, where drones have proven decisive on the battlefield.

UK Minister for Defence Procurement, Luke Pollard, stated that 'together we have some of the best air threat defeat capabilities on the planet.'
