NBU to issue a gold coin up to 10,000 copies: dedicated to Archangel Michael
Issuance of a commemorative gold coin
According to НБУ: The National Bank of Ukraine announced the issuance of a commemorative gold coin dedicated to Archangel Michael. The coin will have a nominal value of 20 hryvnias and will be made of 900 gold. The mintage of the coin will be up to 10,000 pieces, and sales will start in January 2026.
Design of the coin
The obverse of the coin will be decorated with a stylized laurel wreath against the background of a pattern with MM-14. The reverse depicts Archangel Michael, silhouettes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, helicopters, and anti-tank hedgehogs. This coin will be an important element of Ukraine's numismatic products and will symbolize the honoring of Archangel Michael, who is one of the significant saints in Christianity.
The issuance of this commemorative coin is part of the Ukrainian tradition of celebrating important historical and cultural figures, contributing to the preservation of national identity.
