Three Dead and Over 700 Communities Without Power as Severe Weather Hits Ukraine
Emergency Teams Tackle Storm Aftermath Across Ukraine
According to МВС: Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has provided an update on the response to a devastating storm that has caused widespread destruction in several Ukrainian regions. The hardest-hit areas include:
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
- Khmelnytskyi Oblast
- Kyiv Oblast
Powerful winds severely damaged infrastructure, leaving over 700 settlements without electricity across 19 regions. This blackout is hampering recovery operations.
Klymenko confirmed that State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers have already responded to more than 400 callouts. Tragically, three people lost their lives in the Zaporizhzhia, Zakarpattia, and Cherkasy regions. Eight others were injured, including one child. In Zaporizhzhia, the storm ripped the roof off a concert hall during a live performance.
“Restoration work will continue today.”
Ihor Klymenko

Units under the Ministry of Internal Affairs are actively working to clear debris and restore normalcy in affected areas.
