Russian Military Sites in Three Regions Hit by Overnight Drone Strikes
Military Facilities in Russia Targeted
According to Главком: Overnight on February 12, military facilities in Russia's Volgograd, Tambov, and Bryansk regions were attacked. The strikes resulted in explosions, fires, and the mass evacuation of residents. Andrey Bocharov, the governor of Volgograd Oblast, confirmed an attack on a military site in the settlement of Kotluban. This facility is an arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry's Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate (GRAU). According to the authorities, the explosions were caused by falling debris, which triggered the detonation of munitions at the site.
An urgent evacuation of residents in Kotluban was declared in response to these events. Buses were deployed, and temporary accommodation points were set up in the district center of Gorodishche. Emergency units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and military fire services are working at the scene.
Explosions at 'Progress' Plant and Drone Assault
Additionally, in the city of Michurinsk in Tambov Oblast, explosions and a fire occurred at the 'Progress' plant. This marks the second time this facility has been targeted. In Bryansk Oblast, a mass attack using jet-powered drones took place around midnight. Explosions were heard on the outskirts of Bryansk, as well as in the towns of Dyatkovo, Fokino, and Sel'tso. These incidents caused power outages in Bryansk.
These overnight drone attacks on military targets across three Russian regions have led to significant consequences, including destruction, fires, and the evacuation of local populations. The strikes highlight the expanding geographical scope of the conflict, reaching deeper into Russian territory.
These events may indicate escalating regional tensions and a potential intensification of the conflict, as attacks on military sites underscore the vulnerability of critical infrastructure.
