Release Date and Key Features of the Mobile Edition

According to НВ — Техно: Hello Games has announced that their expansive space exploration simulator, No Man’s Sky, will launch on iPhone and iPad on October 28. The iOS and iPadOS versions will include every update released over the past ten years. However, multiplayer modes and base-building will not be available at launch. The developer plans to evolve the mobile experience based on player feedback and engagement.

Pre-orders for No Man’s Sky on iPhone and iPad are now open. The game supports devices starting from iPhone 11 and the third-generation iPad Air onward. Its touch controls have been completely redesigned for mobile play, while also offering compatibility with gamepads and TV streaming. On iPad, players can use a mouse and keyboard for enhanced control. The mobile download size will remain under 5 GB, and there will be a free trial option to try the game.

Indie Games Spotlight on the App Store

As part of Apple’s Indie Games Week on the App Store, No Man’s Sky joins a curated collection of well-known independent titles. Other highlights include:

  • Sifu by Sloclap, featuring revamped camera angles and touch controls for iOS.
  • Vampire Crawlers, a card-based strategy inspired by Vampire Survivors.
  • Dome Keeper, a roguelike blending resource gathering with tower defense mechanics.
Sean Murray from Hello Games commented, “Many PC and console games that manage to transition to mobile only run on the latest iOS devices, but we’re incredibly proud to have optimized No Man’s Sky to run on iPhone 11 and third-generation iPad Air and newer.”

The arrival of No Man’s Sky on mobile platforms highlights the growing trend of indie games adapting to new formats. This expansion opens the door for players without access to PCs or consoles to experience vast open-world adventures. Moreover, the successful launch on iOS may encourage other developers to bring major gaming projects to mobile devices, potentially benefiting the industry as a whole.
