FIFA's president commented on the loud racist scandal in women's football
According to glavcom.ua: FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed support for England national team player Jess Carter, who became a victim of racist insults. Infantino stated: 'Racism is unacceptable, and we are ready to support Carter in any necessary actions against the offenders.'
‘I am deeply disturbed by the insults directed at Jess Carter. There is no place for racism in football or in society... In this case, we will offer our support in any necessary subsequent actions, as well as share data to take appropriate measures against any violators', – said Infantino.
Jess Carter decided to leave social media due to racist attacks against her. She said: 'Everyone can have their opinion, but no one has the right to insult people for their race or appearance. I hope those who write such insults will think about their words.'
In parallel news, a scandal arose due to the presence of little people at the birthday celebration of Barcelona player Lamine Yamal. The association of people with achondroplasia reacted to this event and expressed its intention to take action on this issue.
In the world of football, two situations have arisen related to tolerance and respect for others: support for the insulted player in the fight against racism and the reaction to the scandalous party attended by little people. In both cases, intolerance and insults towards other people for their race or physical characteristics are condemned, highlighting the importance of combating discrimination in all its manifestations in sports and society as a whole.
