Oman Urges Continued U.S.-Iran Dialogue, Insists Diplomatic Path Remains Viable
U.S.-Iran Diplomatic Efforts Continue
According to Главком: Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi has reaffirmed that diplomacy between the United States and Iran remains open, following talks held in Geneva on February 22. Al-Busaidi met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Friday, signaling a continued dialogue despite regional tensions. In the wake of Saturday's missile strikes on Iran, the minister expressed his dismay and called for a renewed commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Oman has a long-standing role as a neutral mediator in Gulf diplomacy.

He also expressed hope that, despite the desire to avoid war, the conflict should not jeopardize the prospects for peace. 'I still believe in the power of diplomacy to resolve this conflict. The sooner talks are resumed, the better for everyone,' he added. Al-Busaidi stressed that 'peace is within our reach.'
Regional Tensions Persist
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated his readiness to hold talks with Iran, which could open new avenues for resolving existing tensions. However, despite diplomatic attempts, Iranian media confirmed the deaths of key military leaders in recent conflicts. The Iranian government has declared 40 days of mourning, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Al-Busaidi further urged the United States not to become more deeply entangled in the conflict, emphasizing these words. These statements reflect Oman's attempt to act as an intermediary in a complex international situation and preserve the possibility of a peaceful settlement between the U.S. and Iran.
The situation between the U.S. and Iran remains tense, considering recent military actions and the loss of key Iranian commanders. Nonetheless, diplomatic efforts, particularly through Omani mediation, may create new opportunities for negotiation. It is crucial for all parties to continue seeking paths to a peaceful resolution, as an escalation of the conflict could have serious repercussions for regional and international stability.
