Five Ukrainian Communities Forge New Partnership Model with Poland
Partnership Memorandum Links Ukrainian Communities with Polish Town of Grybów
According to Міністерство інфраструктури: In a new pilot format for cooperation, five Ukrainian communities have signed a partnership memorandum with the Polish town of Grybów in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. This initiative is part of the 'Side-by-Side: United Communities' project, which receives support and expert guidance from Ukraine's Ministry for Communities and Territories Development. The partners plan to implement practical collaboration, including children's trips and the exchange of expertise between the communities.
The communities that signed the memorandum are:
- Myrnenska Settlement Military Administration
- Mariinka City Military Administration
- Chornobaivska Rural Military Administration
- Petropavlivska Settlement Council of the Synelnykove District
The 'one city - multiple communities' model is a pilot scheme designed to facilitate a more efficient exchange of experience and knowledge. This type of cross-border municipal cooperation is gaining traction in Central and Eastern Europe as a tool for regional development and resilience.
Significance of the Inter-Municipal Cooperation
The signing ceremony was also attended by Viliam Kall, the mayor of the Slovak city of Veľký Šariš, which is a partner to the Velykoluchkivska community. Veľký Šariš intends to sign similar cooperation memoranda with Ukrainian communities under the same 'Side-by-Side' project, indicating a broader expansion of inter-municipal partnerships in the region.
This memorandum represents a significant step in strengthening ties between Ukrainian and Polish communities, fostering partnership development and the implementation of joint initiatives. Such projects can form a foundation for increased social cohesion and cultural exchange between the countries.
The signing of the memorandum between Ukrainian communities and the Polish town of Grybów reflects a commitment to international cooperation and interaction, which can contribute to regional development and improved social relations.
The 'Side-by-Side: United Communities' project underscores the importance of partnership in an era of globalization, where sharing experience and resources can significantly enhance community well-being. These initiatives can act as a catalyst for further efforts to strengthen interstate connections.
