Pension Reform 2025: How many years of service are required to retire at 60

The government is raising the requirements for insurance experience to receive a pension in Ukraine

From 2025, Ukrainians will need to have more service years to receive an old-age pension. This innovation is part of the pension reform. Now, to receive a pension at 60, citizens need to have at least 32 years of work experience.

Those with experience from 22 to 32 years will be able to expect a pension from 63 years. And individuals with experience from 15 to 22 years will receive a pension only at 65 years.

According to the new rules, a person with 25 years of experience will not be entitled to a pension earlier than at 63 years.

How the pension amount is determined

The amount of the pension directly depends on the length of insurance experience, the amount of official salary, and the average salary for the last three years. A special formula is used for calculations.

Pension = Experience × Index × Coefficient

For example, with an average salary of 15,000 hryvnias, the pension for 25 years of experience will amount to 3,750 hryvnias. However, a doubling of the salary can significantly increase the pension amount.

The pension reform in Ukraine provides for an increase in the requirements for insurance experience to receive an old-age pension from 2025.
