According to hvylya.net: The U.S. Department of Defense has ordered a new batch of medium-range 'air-to-air' AMRAAM missiles for Ukraine by entering into a contract with Raytheon worth up to $3.5 billion. This is a strategically important contract that will provide Ukraine with critically important weapons for the long term.

The concluded contract indicates the long-term plans of the U.S. to provide Ukraine with critically important weapons by launching new production lines rather than just transferring from existing stocks.

The AMRAAM missiles are a key component for fighters, particularly the F-16. In addition to Ukraine, other U.S. ally countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, Japan, and others will also receive the missiles. Production work will be carried out at the Raytheon facility in Arizona and is expected to be completed by 2031.

Other Major Defense Agreements

The Pentagon has also signed agreements with Lockheed Martin for the production of JASSM cruise missiles and LRASM anti-ship missiles totaling $4.3 billion. While Ukraine is not a direct recipient of these systems, a significant portion is intended for Poland, which will positively impact security in the Eastern European region.

The signed contract for missile supply to Ukraine demonstrates the support of the United States for the strategic partnership and the intention to strengthen the country's defense capabilities in the region. The agreements with Raytheon and Lockheed Martin also reflect the overall interest of the American side in strengthening security in Eastern Europe.
