Перехід на зимовий час у 2025 році: причини збереження годинникової практики.
In July 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 4201 to abolish seasonal clock changes, but the president did not sign this law. Therefore, this year the transition to winter time will take place as usual.
Ukraine will switch to winter time on the last Sunday of October. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 4 a.m., the clock will need to be set back one hour.

Many countries around the world, including Europe, use the transition to summer and winter time to save energy. This practice was invented back in the 18th century and integrated into daily life in the 20th century. It was first introduced in Great Britain.

Initially, the clock changes had an economic purpose – to save electricity. However, over time, justifications began to arise regarding their impact on human biological rhythms and health.

This year, Ukraine is not canceling the transition to winter time because the president did not sign the law abolishing seasonal clock changes. So on the last Sunday of October, the clocks will need to be set back one hour. The transition to winter time remains relevant for many countries as a means of energy saving and to ensure a certain regime of life in society.
