The air temperature in Ukraine will range from +9 to +14 degrees. In the southern and some central regions, the temperature will rise to +12-18 degrees, while in Crimea and Kherson, it may reach +20 degrees.

The northern regions will feel warming, with temperatures fluctuating from +8 to +12 degrees. In western Ukraine, temperatures will be between +2-7 degrees, indicating the retention of colder conditions. In the capital, Kyiv, the temperature will rise to +9 degrees. The lowest temperatures are expected in the northeast, east, and mountainous areas of the Carpathians, where thermometers may drop to -4...-5 degrees.

Climate change in Ukraine

This year, Kyiv has not recorded a climatic winter for the third consecutive year, as a sustainable drop in temperature below 0 degrees has not been observed in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Ukrainian winters have become approximately one and a half degrees warmer compared to the 1960s-1980s. January temperatures have risen by 3 degrees, and frosts below -35 degrees are now almost unrecorded; -20 degrees are considered severe.

Forecasts also indicate that the winter of 2025-2026 will be milder than usual, with temperatures exceeding the norm by 1-2 degrees. The likelihood of this scenario is 70-80%. Thus, the warming observed in Ukraine is part of long-term changes in climate that affect the weather conditions in the region.

The rise in temperature and the absence of traditional winter frosts in Ukraine indicate global climate changes that have serious consequences for the agricultural sector, ecology, and the everyday life of the population. Changes in weather can impact agriculture, water resources, and the energy balance of the country.

In light of these changes, it is important to adapt to new climatic realities to ensure the sustainable development of the region.
