Russian mass military exercises at the borders of Ukraine give Putin the opportunity to attack.

Russian journalist and military expert Pavel Felgenhauer explained in his article for an online publication why a full-scale military attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine is likely to begin in the near future.

The author reports that on August 27, the relocation of aviation equipment to airfields in the southern military district began in the Russian central and western military districts. The reason given was a combat readiness check of the troops.

The number of soldiers involved in this unexpected check is equal to hundreds of thousands. According to military expert Felgenhauer, this logic suggests that a full-scale war with Ukraine should start in the coming weeks.

The author explains that Russian troops are moving towards the borders of Ukraine with a significant amount of combat weaponry, and this is costing Russia dearly.

'We can expect an armed confrontation. Logically, it should start in the next couple of weeks. And if it does not happen, there is no explanation for why all this was organized, because very serious forces are being deployed - with real bombs, missiles, torpedoes', Felgenhauer added.

Currently, Russia has trained reserves in significant numbers, so there is no need for mobilization. Without this, the Kremlin can gather more than 100,000 servicemen.

The so-called 'separatist' forces in eastern Ukrainian regions - already led by Russian generals, have received logistical support from the Armed Forces of Russia and are essentially under their control, the expert stated.

'For Russia, the main goal is to achieve strategic and tactical objectives. And if the war does not start now, it will be too late. In October, due to the rains, operations will have to be stopped', Felgenhauer emphasized.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence reported that over 40,000 Russian troops had accumulated near the Ukrainian border.
