Jakub Kivior’s Move to Porto

According to Главком: Portuguese side Porto has permanently signed center-back Jakub Kivior from London’s Arsenal. By exercising a buy option, Porto completed the transfer after the defender spent last season on loan with the club, officially making him a full squad member. The total fee stands at €17 million, with potential add-ons worth up to €5 million for Arsenal.

Over the course of the season, Kivior became a key figure for Porto, appearing in 38 matches across all competitions. Following the buyout, the Polish defender inked a contract running through the summer of 2030. Before joining Porto, Kivior previously played for Italy’s Spezia, Slovak clubs Žilina and Železiarne, as well as Belgian side Anderlecht.

Coaching Changes and New Contracts

Beyond transfers, the football world is buzzing about potential shifts on the coaching bench at London’s Chelsea. The list of candidates for the head coach position includes:

  • Xavi Hernández
  • Xabi Alonso
  • Cesc Fàbregas
  • Francesco Farioli

Meanwhile, Manchester City has secured a new contract with Phil Foden, extending his deal until the summer of 2030. Foden’s previous agreement was set to expire next summer, making this renewal a significant move for the club.

This transfer highlights Jakub Kivior’s growing importance at Porto, where he has established himself as a vital defender. A successful loan season enabled the club to trigger the buy option, reflecting the coaching staff’s confidence in his potential. At the same time, Chelsea’s coaching shake-up could reshape their transfer strategy, while Phil Foden’s new contract underscores Manchester City’s commitment to retaining young talent within their ranks.

As Porto strengthens its squad with Kivior's signing, the football landscape is also witnessing significant developments elsewhere. Notably, Phil Foden's new contract with Manchester City until 2030 showcases the club's commitment to nurturing young talent, reflecting a broader trend in the transfer market where clubs are focusing on securing their key players for the long term.
