Alarm in Ukraine due to missile threat

According to Главком: On December 27, an air raid alert was declared in Ukraine due to missile threats. Consequently, at 01:27 in Kyiv, an air raid alert was activated. This decision was made against the backdrop of recent attacks by Russian invaders on Ukrainian cities, particularly Kherson and Chernihiv.

Attacks on Kherson and Chernihiv

On December 25, Russian occupiers launched attacks on Kherson, where a city market was hit. The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, confirmed the fact of the attack, stating that

“in broad daylight, the occupiers cynically struck at the market where people were preparing for the holiday”

. On the same day, Russian invaders also attacked Chernihiv, resulting in damage to a five-story residential building. One person was killed during this attack.

Both attacks occurred on Christmas, when most people were expecting a festive atmosphere. An anonymous author emphasized that

“today, on Christmas Day, when homes were supposed to be filled with light, silence, and family warmth, the enemy struck again at the residential buildings of the city”

. The situation remains tense, and Ukrainians continue to monitor news about security in their regions.

Current events indicate a rise in tension in Ukraine amid constant attacks from Russian troops, who are trying to destabilize the situation in the country. During the festive season, such attacks evoke particular outrage and grief among the civilian population, forcing people to remain vigilant. The activation of air raid alerts in Kyiv and other cities serves as a reminder of the reality of the threat that Ukrainians face every day.
