American athlete disqualified for 45 months: reasons for USADA's decision

According to glavcom.ua: American athlete Marvin Bracey-Williams has received a 45-month disqualification due to violations of anti-doping rules, reports 'Glavcom' citing the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

In January 2024, USADA received information from an informer about Bracey-Williams' use of anabolic substances outside of competitions.

Bracey-Williams initially tried to obstruct the investigation but later admitted to the violations and assisted in the inquiry.

Taking into account his cooperation with the investigation, as well as providing 'valuable information', USADA has imposed a 45-month disqualification, calculated from February 5, 2024. All of the athlete's results from June 1, 2023, are nullified.

Russian speed skater Alexandra Syutina, recognized as a neutral athlete by the International Skating Union, participated in the annual address of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly.

The participation of representatives from the sports world in state events for publicity violates the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee regarding neutral athletes.
