Globus Bank's February Currency Forecast: Projected Exchange Rates for the Dollar and Euro

According to ХВИЛЯ: Taras Lesovyi, Director of the Financial Markets Department at Globus Bank, has issued a currency exchange rate forecast for the period of February 9-15. According to his estimates, the projected exchange rate for the US dollar on the cash market will be 42.5-43.75 hryvnias per dollar.

  • The cost of 100 US dollars is expected to be 4,250-4,375 hryvnias;
  • The cost of 1,000 dollars will be 42,500-43,750 hryvnias;
  • The projected euro rate for this period will be 50-52 hryvnias per euro, meaning the cost of 100 euros will be within 5,000-5,200 hryvnias.

Looking ahead to the end of February 2026, Taras Lesovyi noted that traders will be paying particularly close attention to the euro, as its position could be affected by trade disputes between the US and the European Union. In the end-of-month forecast, the dollar rate is expected to be 42.6-43.5 hryvnias, while the euro rate is projected to fluctuate between 49 and 51.5 hryvnias.

Lesovyi remarked that even in the event of a short-term currency surplus, the market would remain restrained. Taras Lesovyi

This forecast indicates that Ukraine's currency market remains highly volatile, especially concerning the euro due to international trade factors. Given potential trade disputes between the US and the EU, this could lead to significant fluctuations in the euro's value, impacting Ukrainian importers and exporters. Therefore, analyzing exchange rates for the coming weeks is crucial for the financial strategies of companies and investors. The hryvnia's exchange rate is a key economic indicator for Ukraine, closely watched by both domestic businesses and international observers.
