'In 2025, the new team of the Ministry of Development focused primarily on expanding the eRestoration program to support internally displaced persons. Under the new mechanism, the government allocated an additional 15 billion hryvnias. This allowed 7,321 IDP families to purchase housing in safer regions. By the end of the year, another 3,000 families will be able to receive the corresponding funding,' the agency reported.

New housing program for IDPs from temporarily occupied territories

This year, the government approved a resolution that approved a new housing program developed by the Ministry of Development for internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories. Previously, such families could not receive compensation due to the inability to conduct inspections, but now the state has proposed a new mechanism.

'At the first stage, support will be provided to about 3,700 internally displaced persons' families, where there is a combatant or a person with a disability as a result of the war. They will receive housing vouchers for up to 2 million hryvnias. This is the start of the program, and work is already underway with international partners to attract additional resources so that all families from temporarily occupied territories receive compensations,' the Ministry of Development explained.

Summary: The state compensation program 'eRestoration' has become an important tool for providing housing to Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression. Over the course of two years, more than 134,000 families have benefited from the program, receiving a total of 45.3 billion hryvnias in compensation. A new housing program for internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories has begun its activities, providing assistance to families in safer areas.
