According to glavcom.ua: The Paris Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into death threats against former French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Santé prison. This was reported by BFMTV with reference to a source, as stated by 'Glavkom'.

Three individuals who threatened Sarkozy have been isolated. According to radio station Europe 1, these are inmates of Santé, and they may soon be transferred to another prison. Mobile phones have been confiscated from them.

Nicolas Sarkozy faced death threats on the very first day of his imprisonment. A video containing the threats was posted on social media. In it, the suspects promised to 'take care of Sarkozy' and insulted the former president.

Earlier, it was reported that Sarkozy's security is ensured by armed members of a special police unit. They guard the former president around the clock.

It should be noted that the 70-year-old former head of France, who served from 2007 to 2012, was found guilty on September 25 of complicity in a criminal organization in connection with the Libyan financing of his election campaign, but was acquitted of the charges of concealing the embezzlement of public funds and passive corruption. The court found no evidence of illegal financing of the 2007 election campaign.

Sarkozy was sentenced to five years in prison. On October 21, he began serving his sentence in a solitary cell at the Santé prison in the 14th arrondissement of Paris.

Sarkozy has become the first former president of France to be sentenced to actual imprisonment and will serve his term in a solitary cell with a personal shower - at least until the court considers his appeal against the sentence.

The death threats against former French President Nicolas Sarkozy have prompted an investigation by the Paris Prosecutor's Office. The inmates who threatened the politician lost the ability to use mobile phones, and they may also be transferred to another prison. Sarkozy, who has already faced death threats, is under the armed protection of a special police unit.
