Psychological Support in Ukraine

According to ДСНС: Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, has reported on the active work of psychologists from his ministry and the State Emergency Service (SES) within the Resilience Hubs network. Since the beginning of January, these specialists have provided psychological assistance to more than 28,000 people in Kyiv alone. This significant figure highlights the immense demand for mental health support during a period of prolonged national crisis. The widespread need underscores the profound impact of the ongoing war on civilian well-being.

How Psychologists Operate in the Resilience Hubs

Every day, psychologists from the police and SES work in Resilience Hubs and field tents across various locations. They offer consultations, training sessions, and practical techniques for managing stress and anxiety. Ihor Klymenko emphasized that their work provides tangible support for people experiencing stress, anxiety, or uncertainty. He noted that each psychologist tailors their approach to the individual, helping clients restore their inner resources and find calm during difficult moments.

This initiative reflects a growing focus on mental health in Ukraine, particularly given the immense societal challenges the country faces. Providing psychological aid on this scale can help reduce emotional strain across the population and improve the overall psychosocial climate. It is crucial that such programs continue to develop and reach an even greater number of people in need of support.
