Yelyzaveta Pushko-Tsybuliak Dismissed from the Accounting Chamber

According to Главком: A draft resolution to remove Yelyzaveta Pushko-Tsybuliak from her role as a member of the Accounting Chamber has been published on the parliament’s website. Lawmaker Roksolana Pidlasa initiated the move. Pushko-Tsybuliak submitted a request for early termination of her mandate, which triggered the formal dismissal process.

How This Affects the Accounting Chamber’s Operations

As of March 31, only five members remain active in the Accounting Chamber, according to available data. For the body to hold meetings, a two-thirds majority of present members is required. Pushko-Tsybuliak explained: “To pass decisions, including approving audit reports, three members must be present and vote.” - Yelyzaveta Pushko-Tsybuliak

The Accounting Chamber is designed to have 11 members, each serving six-year terms.

This resignation could disrupt the Accounting Chamber’s ability to function. With the membership shrinking, achieving the necessary quorum for key actions like approving audit reports becomes more challenging. If only five members remain, ensuring sufficient attendance and voting power will be critical to maintaining the institution’s effectiveness.

This departure also highlights ongoing shifts in the composition of Ukraine’s oversight bodies, which may affect their political independence and overall role in the country’s governance system.
