According to glavcom.ua: Strong winds, thunderstorms, hail, and heavy rains caused damage in Lviv, Volyn, Transcarpathia, Bukovina, Prykarpattia, as well as in Vinnytsia, Ternopil, and Rivne regions. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the State Emergency Service.
“Rescuers are eliminating the consequences of the storms in dozens of settlements. Most often, this involves fallen trees on roadways, downed power lines, torn roofs, and damaged vehicles,” the report states.
In the Transcarpathian region, more than 50 damaged roofs were recorded in the village of Badiv, and another 20 call-outs for rescuers occurred-they removed 22 trees that had fallen on roads, power lines, and yards.
In Volyn region, more than 40 rescuers and 11 units of equipment were working in Kovel, Lutsk, and Volodymyr regions. Trees were cleared from roads and streets to restore safe traffic.
In the Chernivtsi region, over 1400 square meters of roofing on homes, businesses, and administrative buildings were damaged. Trees fell on highways, homes, and vehicles. 41 rescuers and 11 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the aftermath of the bad weather.
In Prykarpattia, rescuers made 12 call-outs, 10 of which were to remove trees that had fallen on parked cars. One sheet of metal roofing blew onto the roadway.
In Lviv region, the storm knocked down trees in cities and villages, blocking roads and damaging private property.
“In many settlements, the elimination of the consequences of the bad weather is still ongoing. Dozens of rescuers and special equipment are participating in the operations. Thanks to their promptness, it was possible to quickly restore traffic, prevent new damages, and ensure the safety of residents,” the rescuers reported.
It should be noted that on July 7, a strong storm with thunder and gusty winds begins in Lviv and the region. Videos show how the wind knocks down and breaks trees, and a sandstorm has also arisen.
The thunderstorm with strong winds also passed through Bukovina, Prykarpattia, and Rivne. In several districts, falling trees and power outages were recorded.
In connection with the elimination of the consequences of the bad weather, the passage operations at the checkpoint “Dzvinkove – Lonyah” on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border were temporarily suspended on July 8.
After the bad weather in Lviv and other regions of Ukraine, the elimination of consequences was carried out quickly, but in some areas, work is still ongoing to restore local infrastructure and ensure residents' safety. Rescuers continue to be on guard in case of further bad weather and natural disasters, ready to respond quickly and provide assistance to the population.
