Russians created fake pages of the Timur Special Unit: FSB's goal

Russian propagandists actively copy Telegram channels and social media pages that resemble the resources of Ukraine's military intelligence. This is done to confuse potential volunteers, discredit Ukrainian military intelligence, and hinder the recruitment of new fighters for the resistance. This was reported by GUR on the portal «Glekkom».

Recently, the occupiers created a fake Telegram channel «Timur's Special Unit», which went live on October 31, 2025. According to the report, communication is carried out only through the official resources of Ukraine's military intelligence. This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.

«Russians are trying to copy the pages of units that are part of «Timur's Special Unit». A fake page of the Russian volunteer corps has been registered on Telegram, which has more than 130 thousand users», the message says.

Russian propagandists are attempting to create disinformation among potential participants in the war through copying, as well as undermine trust in Ukrainian military structures and their work. This could pose a serious threat to the security of the country and attract more volunteers to protect Ukraine.
