French fishermen supply nets for Ukraine's protection: how it works
Fishermen provided protection from drones with horsehair nets
According to glavcom.ua: French fishermen from the Brittany region decided to help Ukraine by sending worn-out fishing nets made of horsehair for drone protection. Instead of ending up in the trash, these nets are now being used by the Ukrainian army to create protective tunnels.
The commander of the volunteer fishermen, 70-year-old Christian Abaziou, explained that these nets were no longer needed by them, so they decided to donate them for protection in Ukraine. More than 800 tons of such nets have been sent to create protective tunnels in the conflict zone, covering a total of 280 km. After successful deliveries, the president of the charity organization, Gerard Le Duff, expressed gratitude to the Ukrainians for accepting the aid.
«When we learned that Ukraine needed nets, the fishing community quickly responded», - noted Le Duff.
