According to Главком: Russian forces conducted a drone attack on the city of Vilmiansk in Zaporizhzhia Oblast overnight on February 6, resulting in civilian casualties. A married couple, a 49-year-old man and his 48-year-old wife, were killed. Four others were wounded, including two women, a man, and a boy under two years old. All of the injured are receiving medical care, according to Ivan Fedorov. These attacks are part of a wider pattern of Russian assaults on Ukrainian civilian areas far from the front lines.

Repeated Assaults

This was not the first such attack on Vilmiansk. On January 29, Russian drones struck a residential area of the city, killing three people and injuring three others. Simultaneously, in the Sumy region, drones targeted railway infrastructure in the Konotop district. The strike ignited an electric train, but, as reported by rescue services, there were no casualties at the station itself. The use of drones allows for precise strikes deep inside Ukrainian territory, targeting both military and civilian infrastructure.

The situation in these Ukrainian regions remains tense as ongoing drone attacks continue to harm civilians. Vilmiansk, like other cities, suffers from repeated shelling, underscoring the persistent threat to residents' lives and safety.
