Russian Strikes Hit Civilian Targets and Power Grid Across 11 Ukrainian Regions
Drone and Missile Barrage on March 24
According to Главком: On March 24, Russia launched a combined assault using drones and missiles against Ukraine's critical and energy infrastructure. That same night, Russian drones also targeted civilian sites in the Sumy and Odesa regions.
Civilian Casualties in Sumy and Odesa
In the Sumy region, a Russian drone struck a public transport minibus near the Pishchanske village council. The 65-year-old driver was injured but is reported to be in stable condition with no threat to his life. There were no passengers on board at the time of the attack.
Local official Oleg Grygorov stated: 'The enemy deliberately targeted the minibus. The 65-year-old driver was injured and is being examined by doctors; his life is not in danger. There were no passengers in the vehicle during the strike.'
In the Odesa region, a Russian drone hit a public transport stop in the Odesa district. A 51-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries and are currently under medical supervision.
The large-scale, coordinated attack on energy infrastructure resulted in damage across 11 Ukrainian regions. Repair crews are working to restore services, but consumers in six regions remain without electricity. These strikes are part of a sustained Russian campaign that has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's power grid since the full-scale invasion began.
These events underscore Russia's continued aggression against Ukraine, specifically targeting civilian infrastructure and endangering the lives of non-combatants. The combined strikes on critical systems demonstrate an intent to destabilize Ukraine by harming not only military assets but also the daily life and well-being of the population. Restoring the damaged infrastructure remains a priority for Ukrainian authorities in response to these attacks.
The impact of these ongoing strikes is evident as multiple Ukrainian regions face power outages. The coordinated attacks not only threaten critical infrastructure but also plunge communities into darkness, highlighting the broader implications of Russia's military strategy on civilian life and essential services.
