Strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: Russia continues to strike at Ukraine's port, railway, and energy infrastructure, particularly in the Odesa region, causing damage to facilities but with no casualties reported. On January 1, 2026, damage was recorded at Izmail port, as well as damage to port equipment and vehicles in Odesa port.

Damage was also noted at the locomotive depot building in Kovel, where about seven enemy drones hit the area. Additionally, freight cars at the station in Konotop were affected. Strikes by Shaheds on the logistics infrastructure in Odesa region have caused damage; however, the attack did not impact train movements, allowing stability in railway connections to be maintained.

Impact on the economy and public life

These events highlight the continuation of Russia's aggression and its impact on critically important infrastructure in Ukraine.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense, as attacks on infrastructure can have far-reaching consequences for the economy and civil life. Despite the damage, maintaining stability in railway connections is a crucial factor in ensuring logistics and freight transportation, which can help support economic activity in the country.
