Russia attacked ports and railways: damages in Odesa, Kovel, and Konotop
Strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure
According to Міністерство інфраструктури: Russia continues to strike at Ukraine's port, railway, and energy infrastructure, particularly in the Odesa region, causing damage to facilities but with no casualties reported. On January 1, 2026, damage was recorded at Izmail port, as well as damage to port equipment and vehicles in Odesa port.
Damage was also noted at the locomotive depot building in Kovel, where about seven enemy drones hit the area. Additionally, freight cars at the station in Konotop were affected. Strikes by Shaheds on the logistics infrastructure in Odesa region have caused damage; however, the attack did not impact train movements, allowing stability in railway connections to be maintained.
