Russia is currently facing issues accessing foreign aircraft due to international sanctions. This forces airlines to use existing planes as donors for spare parts for other aircraft. For example, 'Volga-Dnepr' and 'Aeroflot' signed an agreement whereby eight 'Boeing' aircraft will be transferred to support other aircraft in their fleet.
'According to the contract, six 'Boeing 737-800BCF' and two 'Boeing 747-400' will be leased to subsidiary companies of 'Aeroflot' – airlines 'Pobeda' and 'Rossiya'. The agreement amounts to approximately 130 million USD and will be financed from the funds of the National Wealth Fund of the Russian Federation'
The reduction in access to foreign aircraft may lead to a decrease in Russia's aircraft fleet, an increase in transportation costs, and the overall degradation of its civil aviation. This jeopardizes the further development of the aviation industry in the country.
