Russia created an online catalog of Ukrainian children: how the abduction scheme works

According to Nikolai Kuleba from the charity organization Save Ukraine, since 2014, children from the occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, and Crimea have been taken by order of Russian families to Russia. However, it has recently become clear that this process can be called nothing less than child trafficking.

Imagine – now one can filter children not only by gender but also by eye color and hair color! The description used for our Ukrainian children resembles a product catalog. This is real child trafficking in the 21st century.

On the website, one can choose a child by a photo with an open face and description, such as 'obedient' or 'calm'. Most of the children presented in the catalog were born before the occupation of Luhansk region and have Ukrainian citizenship. The international coalition has already urged Russia to immediately return all abducted children.

As a result, children from the occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, and Crimea were ordered by Russian families to Russia. However, it has recently become clear that this practice can be defined as child trafficking.
