Zaporizhzhia Hit by Two Russian Strikes in One Day: Casualties and Damage Reported
Attacks on Zaporizhzhia
According to Главком: For the second time on January 28, Russian forces struck the city of Zaporizhzhia. The attacks ignited a residential building and caused fires at the impact sites. These assaults are part of a broader pattern of strikes on civilian areas in southern Ukraine.
Earlier, on January 26, the Russian military also targeted Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding region using drones. The strikes affected the Zaporizhzhia district, including the town of Vilniansk, where a fire broke out. The attacks damaged several apartment buildings, shattering windows and damaging their exteriors.
Aftermath of the Strikes
Emergency services have concluded rescue operations at the strike site in Komyshuvakha, located in the Zaporizhzhia district. Tragically, the attack resulted in the death of an 85-year-old man, with ten other people sustaining injuries. All casualties from Komyshuvakha were hospitalized.
These events underscore the ongoing intensity of the war in Ukraine, particularly in the Zaporizhzhia region, where attacks on civilian infrastructure are becoming increasingly frequent. The escalation highlights the severe toll on the local population, who continue to suffer from the destruction caused by the hostilities.
