Two Female Employees of Ukraine's Grid Operator Killed in Russian Strike
Deadly Toll of Russian Attack on Kyiv Region
According to Главком: During a massive Russian assault on the night of July 6, two women working for NPC Ukrenergo lost their lives. The victims were Inna Kucher and Kateryna Antyufeyeva, close friends who lived in the same building. Kucher led a unit within the employee health and wellness department, while Antyufeyeva served as an insurance manager. Inna Kucher's husband was also killed in the attack, leaving the couple's son orphaned.
The strike-carried out with missiles and drones-targeted Kyiv and the surrounding region as one of its main axes. In the capital, 15 people died and dozens more were wounded. Residential buildings and civilian and transport infrastructure suffered significant damage. Across Kyiv Oblast, eight people were killed and 48 injured. This attack underscores the ongoing danger faced by critical infrastructure workers in Ukraine, who continue to perform essential duties under fire.

This tragedy highlights not only the human cost but also the severe impact on infrastructure and civilian safety in Ukraine. The targeting of non-military sites has sparked outrage and concern both domestically and internationally. The high number of civilian casualties points to an urgent need for stronger protective measures and support for critical infrastructure workers who risk their lives to maintain the country's energy security.
The ongoing aggression against Ukraine has not only claimed lives but has also put the nation's critical infrastructure at risk. Recent incidents, such as the tragic death of an assistant driver in attacks on railway locomotives, further illustrate the peril faced by those working tirelessly to maintain essential services under threat.
