Russians inflicted 6 billion damages to the Azov Sea: what will take decades to restore
According to hvylya.net: Russian occupiers are ruthlessly destroying the fishing economy of the Azov Sea since the beginning of the intervention. According to the State Fisheries Agency, the loss amounts to over 6 billion UAH, as various fish and marine creatures are illegally caught.
The head of the State Fisheries Agency, Igor Klymenko, noted: 'We will monitor all violations of the ecological status of the Azov Sea and will compete for the punishment of the guilty together with international partners.'
These actions violate Ukrainian laws and indicate systematic depletion of natural resources. Materials regarding illegal catches will be handed over to law enforcement for review in a criminal proceeding under Article 249 of the Criminal Code, which regulates such violations.
