Deadly Russian Strikes Hit Sumy and Kharkiv Regions, Leaving Civilians Killed and Injured
Attacks on Sumy Region on June 28
According to Главком: On June 28, Russian forces targeted populated areas in Sumy Oblast, resulting in two fatalities and seven injuries. Over the past day, the region endured 46 separate shelling incidents, causing widespread harm across multiple communities.
In the Seredyna-Buda community, three women aged 69, 62, and 57, along with a 48-year-old man, sustained injuries. Tragically, the 69-year-old woman died in an ambulance. In the Velyka Pysarivka community, a 77-year-old man was killed. A 65-year-old man was wounded in the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, while in the Sumy community, the following individuals were injured:
- a 48-year-old woman,
- a 72-year-old man,
- a 78-year-old woman.
Additionally, on June 27, a 24-year-old resident of the Sumy community was wounded in a drone strike, and a 59-year-old resident of the Vorozhba community suffered injuries from a guided aerial bomb attack. Investigators have launched criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Strikes on Other Regions
Beyond Sumy, Russian forces also attacked Kirovohrad Oblast on June 28, targeting an infrastructure facility in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. That same day, a missile strike hit the Zmiiv community in the Chuhuiv district of Kharkiv Oblast. In Zmiiv, a 55-year-old woman was killed, and eight local residents were wounded.
