According to Рубрика — Суспільство: On the evening of 13 August, Russian forces struck Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast using FAB-250 glide bombs fitted with universal planning and correction modules. The assault killed one resident and raised the number of wounded to 22. Among the injured are seven men and ten women, aged 47 to 85. They suffered blast injuries, traumatic brain injuries, shrapnel wounds, cuts to the head, arms and legs, as well as bruises and abrasions. All casualties received the medical care they needed. Eastern Ukraine has seen frequent attacks on populated areas since the war began, and this strike continues that troubling trend.

Scale of Destruction

The aerial bombing hit residential neighbourhoods, especially multi-apartment blocks. According to initial assessments, damaged property includes:

• 24 apartment buildings
• 57 private houses
• 25 cars

A cafe, a shop, storage facilities and garage structures were also hit. Officials are still determining the full extent of the damage as emergency crews continue working at the scene.

The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office has opened a pre-trial investigation into the attack, treating it as a violation of the laws and customs of war under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The event is another reminder of how military operations continue to affect civilians and civilian infrastructure.

This strike highlights the deeply concerning situation in Donetsk Oblast, where civilians remain exposed to the ongoing violence.

Kramatorsk's situation is causing alarm not only in Ukraine but also internationally, as abuses of human rights and international humanitarian law become increasingly hard to ignore. Further attacks of this kind could deepen the humanitarian disaster and heighten international pressure on the aggressor.

The tragic incident in Kramatorsk is not an isolated case, as the region has faced similar attacks recently. For instance, a 14-year-old boy was killed in another airstrike, illustrating the persistent threat to civilian lives in this war-torn area.
