Tragedy in Bilohorodka

According to Главком: In the early hours of January 28, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle struck a residential building in the village of Bilohorodka, Kyiv region. The attack claimed the lives of two adults: 40-year-old Svitlana Blatova and her civilian husband, Maksym. Their four-year-old daughter was rescued and, while reported to have no physical injuries, is suffering from severe psychological trauma. This incident is part of a wider pattern of attacks on civilian infrastructure that has intensified during the winter months.

The strike occurred around 1:30 a.m., targeting a six-story apartment block and causing extensive damage. The resulting fire covered an area of approximately 600 square meters. The couple's apartment, which was almost fully paid off through a mortgage, was completely destroyed by the flames. Several other residents of the building suffered from stress and carbon monoxide poisoning, though their condition is reported as satisfactory.

Aftermath of the Attack

The four-year-old girl is now with her biological father and older brother. She was rescued by Radio Liberty war correspondent Maryan Kushnir. Svitlana Blatova worked as a cosmetologist and was the owner of two beauty studios. Tragically, the day of the attack was also her eldest son's 20th birthday.

The family has initiated a fundraiser to support the children who have been orphaned by this tragic event.
