Nova Poshta Branch Hit in Novomykolaivka

According to Главком: A Russian 'Geran-2' attack drone struck a Nova Poshta branch in Novomykolaivka, Zaporizhzhia region, destroying more than 150 parcels in the resulting fire. Preliminary compensation costs for customers are estimated at 300,000 Ukrainian hryvnias. Despite the destruction, none of the company's employees were injured. Nova Poshta is Ukraine's largest private postal and courier company, making such attacks a direct blow to civilian logistics.

Company representatives stated: 'Unfortunately, 150+ shipments were burned. The company is already contacting customers whose parcels were in the branch. Preliminary compensation for customers is estimated at 300,000 hryvnias.'

Service Restoration Plans

To restore services, a mobile branch will be set up near the destroyed facility. This incident is not an isolated one. On April 1, Russian forces attacked a Nova Poshta warehouse in Lutsk, Volyn region. Furthermore, on March 17, a Russian strike in Zaporizhzhia hit near another company terminal. These repeated attacks highlight the targeting of civilian supply chains, which are vital for the functioning of society during wartime.

The destruction of the Nova Poshta branch in Novomykolaivka is part of a broader pattern of conflict where civilian infrastructure is increasingly targeted. These events underscore the threats faced by Ukrainian businesses and the critical importance of rapidly restoring essential services to meet public needs.

The deployment of a mobile unit demonstrates the company's effort to maintain customer connections and mitigate the impact of the attacks on the local population.

This recent attack is not an isolated incident, as a previous strike on a Nova Poshta facility in Lutsk also resulted in significant damage to both the depot and nearby residential buildings. Such ongoing assaults on civilian logistics highlight the urgent need for enhanced protection of essential infrastructure amidst the ongoing conflict.
