The Council of the International Ski Federation (FIS) issued a decision regarding the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the qualification competitions for the 2026 Winter Olympics. The status of 'individual neutral status' (AIN), created by the International Olympic Committee for Russian and Belarusian athletes, was not allowed to be applied in this case.
Darya Nepryaeva, champion of Russia in cross-country skiing, expressed her disappointment and cried after the news about the exclusion of Russian skiers from the international arena and the 2026 Winter Olympics became known. The girl posted a video on Tiktok where she admits her sorrow: 'Not this year. No Olympics in 2026, friends.'
The champion of Russia was disappointed due to the exclusion of Russian license holders from the 2026 Olympics. Russian athletes are deprived of the opportunity to participate in qualification competitions due to the FIS decision.
