Sadovoy refuted the statement about investigations in the Lviv City Council
On Friday, July 25, 2025, some Ukrainian media disseminated information about searches in the administrative buildings of the Lviv City Council, which, according to them, were related to the embezzlement of budget funds intended for the restoration of the consequences of a missile strike on Lviv two years ago. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovoy reacted to this information, emphasizing that no searches took place.
"There are no searches in the city council! Please check the information and sources," emphasized the mayor.
The SBU did not confirm the conduct of searches, and the Lviv City Council has already stated its readiness to assist in the objective investigation of possible abuses during the reconstruction of houses on Stryiska Street, which were damaged by the missile strike in 2023. The focus of law enforcement agencies is on the procurement of windows for historical buildings in the UNESCO zone.
The deputy director of the Lviv City Council department emphasized the importance of quick intervention during the restoration of objects damaged as a result of military events. All necessary documents have already been submitted to the investigative authorities for further consideration.
In July 2023, Lviv was subjected to a missile strike, leading to damage to buildings and infrastructure in the city. The controversial situation with the searches in the council and the investigation of possible abuses regarding the restoration of houses indicates the need to study all aspects of the city's rehabilitation, as well as to control the spending of budget funds for these purposes.
