The SBU documented over 10,000 chemical attacks by Russia since the start of the large-scale war
According to glavcom.ua: The Security Service of Ukraine has recorded more than 10,000 chemical attacks from Russia on the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the beginning of the full-scale war. Russian troops are using aerosol grenades and poisonous substances, violating the Chemical Weapons Convention since 1993.
As a result of these attacks, Ukrainian defenders have suffered from toxic substances, leading to injuries to their eyes and respiratory organs. Russian security forces are attempting to use these methods to force Ukrainian soldiers to leave their defensive positions.
Thus, the enemy is trying to force the defenders to leave their trenches and shelters under targeted fire from the occupiers.
The international organization OPCW in The Hague confirmed the fact of chemical weapon use by Russia against Ukraine, which led to the imposition of sanctions by the European Union against Russia's radiation, chemical, and biological protection forces. The military and political leadership of Russia is currently involved in investigating these crimes.
The report of more than 10,000 chemical attacks carried out by Russia on the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicates serious violations of international norms and rules. Reflecting Russia's aggressive actions in the war in eastern Ukraine, this information may influence the international response to the conflict and further actions by the community of nations.
